To our valued customers,
As you are aware, Red Star Yeast is difficult to find through online sources and in stores everywhere. The current demand is simply unprecedented. Rest assured, we are making yeast around the clock, while keeping safety as a priority for our employees and across the distribution chain. We are shipping product every day to stores and our online vendors. Based on what we’re hearing from customers this week, some stores have yeast in stock and we’re certain that all retailers are working hard to distribute product to all their locations.
Please keep checking (or calling) your local stores as yeast should be on the shelves very soon. Timing will depend on whether consumers take only what they will need. We are encouraging our retailers to temporarily limit the quantity each customer can purchase to help ensure there is enough to go around until stocks are fully replenished. We also encourage our customers to only take what they need for now so more people can purchase yeast and bake bread. Go to our store finder to find a store near you.
For online ordering, our Red Star, Platinum and SAF yeast products are sold through our online partner, Online Grocery Outlet. While products are selling out quickly, they are receiving new product and updating their site regularly. Please keep checking back to see if product is back in stock.
Fresh cake yeast is another option. Check in the dairy section of your local store or ask the dairy manager if they’d be willing to order it in. For reference, one-third of a 2 oz. fresh yeast cake is equivalent to one package (¼ oz. or 2 ¼ teaspoons) of dry yeast. More information and a conversion table is found here.
We also are aware there are 3rd party sellers online who are selling yeast at an extremely high price. We condemn this practice and are working to combat it. Please be patient if you can and wait until you can find it at your local stores or our online vendors that we work with directly. We cannot guarantee the freshness or performance of the product from 3rd party sellers.
