Easy Tomato Basil Bread

Imagine this bread with a vegetable pasta salad or as a pepperoni and cheese sandwich - toasted!
Easy Tomato Basil Bread
Yield 1 (9x5-inch) loaf

Ingredients

  • 2 cups tomato-basil flavored spaghetti sauce
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 to 4 cups bread flour
  • 1 (0.25oz) package (7g) or 2 1/4 teaspoons Red Star Active Dry Yeast

Instructions

  • Warm the spaghetti sauce to 120-130°F. Add 3 cups flour, yeast and cheese to mixing bowl; whisk to combine. Stir in the warm sauce, adding additional flour until you get a soft dough that comes together. Turn out dough onto floured surface. Knead dough until smooth and elastic (about 5-7 minutes).
  • Let rise in greased bowl, covered with towel or plastic wrap, until doubled in size.
  • Punch down dough. Roll or pat into a 14x7-inch rectangle. Starting with shorter side, roll up tightly, pressing dough into roll. Pinch edges and taper ends to seal. Place in greased 9x5-inch loaf pan. Cover; let rise until indentation remains after touching.
  • Preheat oven to 375°F.
  • Bake for 25 minutes. Remove bread from pan; cool on wire rack. Slice and enjoy!
