Vintage Sauced Ribs
A sweet-sour sauce with the Vintage Fruit bakes atop ribs for a tasty, attractive main dish.

This recipe makes 4 to 6 servings
Ingredients
  • 4 to 6 lbs. Country-style ribs or Spareribs
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • ½ tsp Pepper
  • ¼ cup Brown sugar, packed
  • 3 TBSP Cornstarch
  • ½ tsp Ground ginger
  • ¼ tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 cup Water
  • ½ cup Vintage Fruit syrup
  • ½ cup Apple cider vinegar
  • 2 TBSP Soy sauce
  • 1 cup Vintage Fruit, drained
  • 1 Small onion, sliced
  • Cooked rice
Instructions
  1. Sprinkle ribs with salt and pepper; wrap tightly in heavy foil packets, sealing well. Place on cookie sheets. Bake at 350°F for 1 hour. In medium saucepan, combine brown sugar, cornstarch, ginger and garlic powder; gradually add water, stirring until smooth. Add Vintage Fruit syrup, vinegar and soy sauce. Cook over medium heat until thickened, stirring constantly. Add drained Vintage Fruit; remove from heat. Place ribs in shallow baking dish; top with onion slices. Spoon sauce over ribs. Bake uncovered until tender, about 1-1/2 hours. Serve over rice.
